The font is in the style of swords and knives to show violence. It also contains a cross for the letter ‘T’, the signifier of a cross is religious and this could signify spirits and unnatural themes. The word ‘rite’ means a solemn ceremony or act, this gives you a insight of what the film could be about.

The orphan font is a mixture of upper case and lower case letters, which foreshadows the entropy of what the film may be like. The word orphan is associated with a back-story of death, which indicates a mystery of psychological themes.

By analysing font titles we can create our own titles for our short thriller film.

The black swan is in the font colour of black, which connotes darkness and mystery. A black swan symbolises unpredictable and unforeseen events or could mean something extremely rare. This foreshadows the possible theme of the film.

The font is not formal it is shaky which foreshadows an on edge film. The word Gothika comes from the word gothic, which means black and darkness.

This font is very relateable to the title of the movie as the colours link in with the word cold. Cold connotes snow and ice and the colour white which is why the font is white and faded to give it an icey look. There is also the colour red behind the text which connotes blood, pain, murder etc so this could tell us that somebody dies in the cold/snow. The background is black which connotes mystery.

The font of this movie has a feature that gives away quickly that it is a thriller as it has an upside down cross. This implies that the film is not holy and will be the opposite of what christianity teaches. the colours are white which connote heaven and purity which is the opposite from the upside down cross and it akk links in.

This font is differnt from the other fonts as instead of using the colour red they used orange which makes the writing look like a pumpkin. A pumpkin connotates halloween, monsters, masks, death etc. Many thrillers are set using a halloween theme as it is a real life event that many people celebrate and give the audience a thrill.

This font is very interesting as the letter L is shaped into an ax which is used commonly in a thriller to kill people. This makes the font way scarier and it makes it obvious that there will be a death that will be done using an ax. The colour used is red which connotes to blood and murder and links into the ax. The colour red also looks like its dripping from the font to give it a more deadly look.

This font is also relateable to the name or the theme of the movie as the title is "them" and it has 3 figures inbetween the letters. This leaves a mystery and allows the audience to debate what is them, who is them etc,

The 3 figures are wearing hoodies and cant see any features which also shows mystery and  thrill to thr auience. The title is in capitals which makes it look bold and stand out.

This font is dark which connotes mystery, power and death. Futhermore, the 'O' in John is replaced with a gun pointing towards the audience, which further connotes that this thriller film has elements of power and death, as someone who has a gun pointed at you has power over you, and if you try to dismiss that power it is possible it will end in your death. This fits into the codes and conventions of a thriller film as the audience can expect death, violence and murder.

This tag line font is bold and in the colour red. The boldness connotes warning and demand, as if it is trying to catch the audience's attention, especially as it is the biggest font on the page and in a bright red colour. The words 'NO ONE IS SAFE' further connotes danger, panic, fear and warning. This fits into the codes and conventions of a thriller film as the audience can expect tension to be the main element of a thriller film. However, the title of the film is 'SAFE HOUSE', which contradicts the tag line, connoting that there will be an atmosphere of suspense and literary devices like plot twists used in the film. This also fits into the codes and conventions of a thriller film as the audience can expect thriller directors to have a plot twist in their thriller films, to make it more exciting for the audience.

This font is bold, spaced out and has a digital effect. This could connote that the film is based around technology, and as the title of the film is 'Shooter', this could further connote the film is surrounded by guns, violence and murder. This can fit into the codes and conventions of a thriller film as the audience expects murder, violence and weaponary in the film. The tag line 'Yesterday was about honor. Today is about justice.' connotes that the film is about the military as honor and justice can be associated with pride for the country and justice for the country they serve. It further connotes this by the title 'Shooter' and also connotes that this film could be an action conspiracy thriller. This can fit into the codes and conventions of a thriller film as the audience can expect differnt sub genres such as conspiracy and action in a thriller based film.

This font is bold and in the colour black. The colour black can connote death, mystery and murder. Futhermore, the Nazi emblem connotes horrific murders, and the splash of red looks like a blood splash, futher connoting death, murder, and violence. The word 'inglourious' means disgraceful, which can connote that this film is about the disgraceful acts of the Nazi's. This can fit into the codes and conventions of a thriller film as the audience can expect an atmosphere of violence followed by death and murder.

This font is bold and in the colour red. The boldness connotes warning and demand, as if it is trying to catch the audience's attention, especially as it is the biggest font on the poster. By the colour being red, it can also connote danger. The font colour is smudged, which makes it look like blood being smeared across the words. This can connote that there will be death and element of violence. This fits into the codes and conventions of a thriller film as the audience can expect violence to be the main element of a thriller film, and as they can expect violence, they can also expect death to be the result of that violence. The actors name (Leonardo Dicaprio) is also in a bold font to catch the audience's attention. This is a selling technique as the actor is a very popular character and by emphaisising his name more people are likely to notice the poster and consider watching the film.
